"WALK FOR SIGHT"
Date : 10.10.10 (Sunday)
Time : 7:00am to 12 noon
Venue: Padang Polo
Registration Fees : RM 10 ( goodies bag, blind fold, certificate & lucky draw)
Multiple District 308's "WALK FOR SIGHT" project is set to be carried out concurrently throughout the District on 10 October 2010. This project is held in conjunction with Lions Clubs International's World Sight Day.
Participation fee for this 3Km walk is RM10.00 whereby all participants will receive a goody bag (worth more than RM10) and a lucky draw opportunity.

Regions 1, 2 & 3 Lions, Lionesses and Leos will be organising this event at the Penang Polo Ground, Jalan Sepoy Lines, Penang at 7.00 a.m. The Rt. Hon'ble Chief Minister of Penang, Lion Lim Guan Eng will be invited to flag off the participants to be witnessed by State Government dignitaries and Lions dignitaries. To date, the Organising Committee helmed by President Oh Aik Kim of the Lions Club of George Town have secured the support of the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) and St. Nicholas Home for the Visually Impaired as co-organisers with others to be confirmed shortly.

A special recognition will be given to donors who contribute RM500.00 towards this meaningful project - they will be conferred the "KNIGHT OF THE BLIND" status by District Governor Hudson Hah and will receive a framed certificate to attest to this conferment.
All proceeds will be channelled to the St. Nicholas Home for the Visually impaired and Lions Sight First project Funds.
The organisers appeal to all Lions, Lionesses, Leos, friends and supporters of Lions to come forward and join us in this meaningful project. Tickets will be available through Lions Clubs and St. Nicholas.Interested?

Mooncake Festival Celebration- 18 September 2010
Five days before the Mooncake Festival, Leo Club of Chung Hwa Confucian,Leo club of Tanjung Penang, Leo Club, Leo Club of Georgetown City and Leo Club of Union High School had jointly organized a Mooncake Festival Celebration at Leo Club of Tanjung Penang President,Leo Jocelyn Yew's and Leo Club of CHCHS President, Leo Yew Shu Hwei's house on 18th September.
We were so enjoyed in this event especially when we took the lantern and walked around there...
Besides, we also very happy when BBQ together with other Leos!
Lastly, I would like to wish all Lions and Leos Happy Mooncake Festival ! Roarrr!!!

Lantern Design Competition-- using recycled items.
As the Mooncake festival will coming soon, Leo Club of Union High School had organized a Lantern Design Competition using recycled items on 18th September 2010 at Union High School.
Total 68 members were divided into 8 groups. Our BOD prepared the recycled items from the 3R room. We also gave them some tools like scissors and costape. At 10.00am, the activity was started.
All members were really creative and fast efficiency because they had only use about 1 and half hour to make a creative and beautiful lanterns. After complete making the lantern, they had to send a representative from each group to present their lantern in front of everyone!
Finally, the results was coming out! The members of first place and second place can received a tasty mooncake as a prize. But the last one who was the loser, were received a WASABI Mooncake which was adding by BOD!! The loser also must finish the wasabi mooncake in front of us. They were so funny when eating. xD

Anyway, thanks for the attendance of every members. We can see that all member learned the Spirit of cooperation,knowledge about go green and celebrated mooncake festival ! And I would like to say congratulation to BOD because you had make this activity successfully !

Old Folks Homes Hoping - 9th September 2010
We were helping to wash the toilet.

On 9 of September, We had joined Leo Club of Chung Ling High School's project to visit 2 old folks' houses. The first one was the Claris Old Folks' Home in Relau. We helped to clean up their homes and work for them.
On the next station, we went to the Yin Xi Old Folks' house. We spent the time in the kitchen to help them to cut a numbers of vegetables. At the lunch time, we also helped them to serve and give the food to the old folks.
Finally, thanks to Leo Club of Chung Ling High School to let us to join in this meaningful activity.
